In Loving Memory of My Mother
My Mom was born into a loving family and grew up valuing fairness, learning, strength, dignity, humor, grace and hope, she carried these with her to the end.. |
She and my Dad were happily married for 63 years. |
They had 4 children, here we are in our Easter dresses (and suit) made by my Granny. |
They raised us in Michigan. Here is my Granny (visiting from Tennessee) with my Mom in her snow bonnet, my brother and my Dad. |
When Daddy retired, they moved back to Tennessee. They spent their golden years building a solar home, growing an organic market garden, enjoying their farm, family and grandchildren. Mom kept up with the news, learned to use a computer, loved to read, and had thoughtful and well reasoned opinions on about any subject I could dream up. When I needed every day advice, she was a wealth of knowledge on how to make do, rig-up, cook, repair or deal with anything life might throw at you. |
She fought a courageous battle with her cancer, enduring the chemo and the disappointments when it progressed from breast to pancreas to liver. She kept her strong spirit and the twinkle in her eye until it became physically impossible. |
Farewell and thank you for being always so generous, tolerant, loving and inspiring. |
